FIVE LIFE LESSONS I LEARNT IN 2014

Hello, its three days to the end of the year and I’m so excited. yay! I absolutely love new years. In reality the new year days are just like any other days but I feel a sense of newness because of the importance we have attached to them. It appears to me like I’ve been offered a fresh piece of paper to write my life as I desire to live it. So, in this spirit, I always make plans/goals for the new year and sometimes new years resolutions. But more importantly, I reflect on the ‘old’ year to take note of what life has taught me in the past year. I decide on what baggage I need to leave in the old year or take with me into the new year.

2014 has been an absolutely amazing year. I set personal goals for myself and I worked really hard towards them and I exceeded some limits I set for myself. The Lord be praised. I’d try to stick to the topic at hand; Life lessons I’ve learnt in 2014.

1.      Don’t trust anybody 100%. Only God deserves that kind of trust and only He should I trust knowing that His desires for me are always nothing short of the best. Like my pastor says, ‘man at his best is still man’. People may not mean to disappoint but there are human limitations.

2.      Do not depend on anyone for your happiness. Allow people to walk out of your life if they want. This included my relationships with boys and my girlfriends too. It feels really good to know now that everyone in my life wants to be in my life. It’s a beautiful feeling.

3.     Don’t stress over the future. I started final year at uni this year and was worried about my next steps for the future. I worried about ‘finding purpose’, deciding on whether or not a career in pharmacy is actually Gods will for me etc. Right now, although still seeking God’s face for the future, I’ve learned to trust. (I’m still learning this one every day. Will make a special post on it)

4.      Life is not fair. I think I’ve gotten a hang of this one. I just count my blessings and thank God every day.

5.      Last but not least, God won’t give up on me. Its been a very eventful year lol. God and I have had some moments. I think this helps me sleep at night and for this I am most grateful.

There they are, the five most important life lessons I’ve learnt in 2014.

Please feel free to drop a comment.

Until my next post. Happy new year in advance.

xoxo ebe.

    1. Same to you Maximus. I think we'd have to have a measure of trust to do things with people anyway. But I'm reserving 100% trust for God only lol.
